Obituary





John P. McMillin age 82, of Hays, Kansas died Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Cedar Village Care Center in Ness City, Kansas. He was born December 22, 1939, at Salina, Kansas, to Mark and Anna Phyllis (Bieker) McMillin. He married Dolores (Braun) on May 13, 1967 at Vincent, Kansas.

He worked at S & W Supply in Hays as a parts man for 35 years and retired in 2002.

John grew up in Salina, Kansas and was a 1959 graduate of Salina High School. He was a veteran of the U S Navy, and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dolores McMillin, of the home; his daughters, Jill Haney and husband, Jeff, Aurora, CO; Holly McMillin-Hoopes and her fianc, Chuck Link, Ransom, KS; his sisters-in-law, Wilma Braun, Hays, KS; and Linda Braun, Wichita, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Mark, Steven and Donald McMillin; and his sister, Mary Robinson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 18 & Vine, Hays, Kansas with Father Elias Chinzara officiating. Burial will be in Saint Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria, Kansas. Military Honors will be conducted at the graveside by the Hays and Victoria V.F.W.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:30 P.M. Monday, at Clines-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

A vigil service and rosary will be at 6:30 P.M. Monday, at Clines-Keithley Mortuary of Hays.

The family suggests memorials to; Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church "Building Fund" in care of Clines-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.
