Joe A. Staab

Joseph A. Staab, age 86 of Hays, formerly of Catharine, died Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Via Christi Village, Hays. He was born March 19, 1927 in Catharine, KS to William and Catherine (Schuler) Staab. He married Louise Meier on August 9, 1950 in Antonino, KS.



He was a former Mill Operator for Hays Land and Cattle Company. He was a US Army veteran serving in Germany in 1946. He was a lifetime member of the Hays VFW, American Legion and St. Catherine Catholic Church.



He is survived by his wife, Louise; two sons, Garry and wife JoAnn of Hays and Dennis and wife Diane of Basehor, KS; seven daughters, Barbara McCormick, Sharon Howard, Diana Staab, Pam Munsch and husband Cory all of Hays, Wanda Pfannenstiel and husband Tom of WaKeeney, Donna Perez and husband Gabe of Lenexa, KS and Joann Lang and husband Brian of Shawnee, KS; two sisters, Betty Dechant of Hays and Agnes Lundy of Westland, MI. 17 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren also survive him.



He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Felix, Dick, Eddie, Bill, Rich, Larry, Alfred and infant brother Robert; a sister Lexie Younger; son-in-laws, Bob McCormick, Chuck Howard and three infant granddaughters.



Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 25th at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Catharine. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors by the Hays VFW.



Visitation will be Friday 4 PM 8 PM and Saturday 8:30 AM 9:30 AM all at Brocks North Hill Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS. 67601.



A Daughters of Isabella rosary will be Friday at 6:30 P.M. followed by a parish vigil service at 7:00 PM all at the funeral home.
