Joan Staab

Joan G. Staab, age 80 of Mulvane, formerly of Catherine died Saturday, June 20th, 2009 at the Villa Maria Nursing Home in Mulvane. She was born on October 7, 1928 in Tampa, KS. to Joseph D. and Gertrude E. (Finnin) Costello. She married Francis Eugene "Gene" Staab in 1964 in Catherine. She was a homemaker. Her memberships included St. Catherine Church, St. Catherine Christian Mothers Altar Society, VFW Post 9076 Ladies Auxiliary, and the Prairie Garden Club.She is survived by a brother, Wayne Costello of Mulvane and three nephews.Joan was preceded in death by her husband Gene on September 27, 2005 and her parents.Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Catherine. Burial will be in the church cemetery.Visitation will be on Monday 4:00 - 8:00 and on Tuesday 9:00 - 9:30 all at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays. There will be a VFW Ladies Auxiliary Prayer Service at 6:00 on Monday followed by a Parish Vigil at 6:30 all at the funeral home.Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Catherine Church.
