Jason Michael Schmidt

Hays, Kansas Jason Michael Schmidt, age 37, died Friday, November 24, 2017. He was born May 15, 1980, in Hays, Kansas, to Keith Gerard and Janice Marie (Dechant) Schmidt.

He worked in construction, concrete finishing and did auto body repair. Jason enjoyed electronics, working on old cars, riding motorcycles and fishing. He attended Hays High School and was a member of the catholic faith.

Survivors include his children Harlie Schmidt and Damian Schmidt, both of Hays, KS; his parents, Keith and Janice Schmidt, Hays, KS; one sister, Angela Schmidt and her children, Tyra, Mason, and Skyy, Tempe, AZ; his grandmother, Esther Schmidt, Hays, KS; many uncles, aunts and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfred "Al" Schmidt; Nicholas "Nick" and Rosella (Kuhn) Dechant.

A private family service and inurnment will be held at a later date.
