Henry Thomas Shirk, age 51, of Hays, Kansas passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Hays Medical Center. He was born May 2, 1970 in WaKeeney, Kansas to Thomas Henry and Connie (Augustine) Shirk.

Henry graduated from Hays High School. In his late teens Henry enlisted in the military where he was diagnosed with the early symptoms of Myotonic Muscular Dystrophy. Henry was able to work in fast food for some time before his condition prevented him from working. Henry was a Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching TV and movies. He was extremely introverted but was known to never forget to send a birthday card to his family members including nieces and nephews.

Henry is survived by his mother and stepfather, Connie and Terry Jones of Woodward, Oklahoma, three brothers, Robert Shirk and wife Misty of Springfield, Missouri, Douglas Shirk and John Shirk both of Woodward; and a sister, Brenda McCray of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Henry Shirk.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday April 20, 2022 with Fr. Dana Clark officiating at Keithley Funeral Chapel 400 E. 17th Ellis, KS 67637. Inurnment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Ellis. Services will be livestreamed through the Keithley Funeral Homes Facebook Page. This can be selected from the funeral home website by selecting the tab Facebook Live
