Helga Werth

Helga Margaret (Benker) Werth, age 77, of Schoenchen, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 at her home. She was born February 16, 1938 in Bamberg, Germany to Georg and Anna (Schubert) Benker. She was a graduate of Gangolf Schule. She married Robert F. Werth on January 9, 1959 in Bamburg. On November 5, 1959 she came to the United States via the Carrier Ship USS Butner.

She spent her teenage years working in a hat factory during WWII. She also worked at the Hays Good Samaritan Center, Travenol and retired from Boeing in 2002. She was a member of St. Anthony Church in Schoenchen.

She is survived by two daughters, Silvia Gottschalk and husband Dennis of LaCrosse and Lisa "Chach" Beilman and husband Ken of Hays; four sons, Stan R.Werth of Wewahitchka, FL, Glenn Werth and wife Michelle of Palmdale, CA, Kirk Werth and wife Heather of Victoria and Steve Werth and wife Laurie of Schoenchen;14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert F. Werth, infant son, Robert F. Werth Jr. and a brother, Rudy Benker.

Private family services will be held at a later date with inurnment in St. Anthony Cemetery in Schoenchen.

Visitation will be 4 PM 8 PM on Monday, Feb 15th at Brocks-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.

Memorials are suggested to the wishes of the family to be designated at a later date.
