Obituary



George S. Koogle, Sr., age 98 formerly of Great Bend, KS died Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Downs Care and Rehab - Downs, Kansas.

George was born July 18, 1923 in Lyons, KS, served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII and was united in marriage on January 24, 1945 to Arliss Ann (Belts) Koogle - together they shared almost 74 years of marriage.

George and his wife, Arliss owned and operated Star Cleaners in Great Bend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Arliss; and daughter: Sally Schmidt.

Survivors include his son: George Koogle, Jr., of Edmond OK; and son-in-law: Elmer Schmidt of Hays.

Cremation has taken place and an inurnment service, inclusive of Military Honors by the Hays VFW will take place Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 2 PM in the St Joseph's Cemetery - Hays.

Cremation services under the direction of Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine Street Hays, KS 67601.
