Geneva (Jenny) Prieur, age 85, of Hays passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 at HaysMed.

Jenny was born January 7, 1934 in Hot Springs, South Dakota. In 1942, she and her brother Harry, were adopted by Walter and Paula (Mahler) Meyer of Kansas. She grew up working the family farm and attended school in Hanover. A highlight memory was being voted 1st runner-up for Basketball Queen while in high school. Jenny married Leo Pacha in 1952. They lived around Marysville, KS and had six children, 3 boys and 3 girls. They divorced and she later, married Gordon Prieur, having one more daughter.

In 1968, she moved to Beatrice, NE where she worked various jobs including: a meter maid for the Beatrice Police Department, a bartender for the VFW and American Legion and ending with her favorite, a cook at the Good Samaritan Center. In 1990, she and longtime friend, George Sales, moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas where she continued to cook at the Good Samaritan Center until she retired. After Georges death in 1999, she lived with different family members in Illinois, Nebraska, Texas, and finally Kansas.

In addition to cooking, Jenny loved to sew and embroider. From clothes for her children to beautiful wall hangings, placemats, oven mitts and more, most gifts were lovingly handmade and she loved to pass on her crafting and cooking skills to her grand and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son: Ricky, her parents: Walter and Paula Meyer, her brother: Harry Meyer, her ex-husbands: Leo Pacha and Gordon Prieur, longtime friend: George Sales, and daughter: Cindy (Pacha) Kramer.

She is survived by 2 sons: Louis Pacha of KS and Russ Pacha of NE, 3 daughters: Eileen (Mike) Hackley of KS. Dixie (Mike) Johnson of NE, and Rainie (Carl) States of IL, caregivers/granddaughters: Jessica (David) Clingan of KS and Melissa Kramer of TX, 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
