Gary Boeve

Gary L. Boeve, age 68 of Afton, OK, formerly of Hays, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. He was born November 22, 1945 in Phillipsburg, KS to Louis and Edith (Bogart) Boeve. He married Saunie (Schamber) on August 28, 1965 in Phillipsburg.



Gary was a funeral director and embalmer starting in Phillipsburg and then in Hays where he was owner of Brock's North Hill Chapel serving families with compassion and dignity for 31 years. He was a past member of the Phillipsburg Elks where he served as Exalted Ruler and he had been a long time member of Smoky Hill Country Club. He was currently a member of Shangra La Golf and Country Club on Grand Lake, OK and at Heritage Bay Golf and Country Club in Naples, FL. He was also a 4th degree Knights of Columbus Bishop Cunningham Assembly member and he was an avid KU Basketball Fan.



Gary is survived by his wife, Saunie of Afton, OK; two sons, Todd Boeve and wife Cheryl of Lincoln, NE and Travis Boeve of Overland Park, KS; a daughter, Angie Maloney and husband Mike of Kingman, KS; a brother, Ron Boeve Sr. of Phillipsburg, KS; a sister, Shirley Olliff of Phillipsburg, KS and four grandchildren, Brett and Mackenzie Boeve of Lincoln and Parker and Macey Maloney of Kingman, KS.



He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Larry Boeve.



Funeral services will be at 10 AM Monday, March 3, 2014 at St. Joseph catholic Church in Hays. Burial will be at 3 PM Monday at Fairview Cemetery in Phillipsburg.



Visitation will be Sunday 3 PM - 8 PM at Brock"s Funeral Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.



A rosary service will be at 6:30 PM Sunday followed by a parish vigil service at 7 PM all at the funeral home.



Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Church or the American Cancer Society.
