Obituary



Francis Joseph Fisher, age 89, of Hays, Kansas passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 at Via Christi Village, Hays. He was born April 23, 1930 in Hays to Zacheus and Monica (Rupp) Fisher. On June 15, 1950 he married Josephine Giebler at St. Marys Catholic Church in Ellis.

Francis was a long-time custodian and maintenance man for Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and school and he also owned Fisher TV Repair. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, IHMC council 3rd degree K of C and Ellis Council 4th degree K of C. He enjoyed playing cards, golf and horseshoes.

He is survived by his wife, Josephine of Hays; four sons, Francis Fisher Jr (Linda) of Hays, Gerald Fisher (Brenda) of Hominy, OK, Kenneth Fisher (Jodie) of St. Louis, MO, Mark Fisher (Melanie) of Hays; seven daughters, Patricia Arias of Broken Arrow, OK, Cynthia Lang (Floyd) of Mountain Home, AR, Pamela McCormack of Marysville, KS, Wanda Staab (Lee) of Larkspur, CO, Sheila Goodwin (James) of Henderson, NV, Laura Smull of Great Bend, KS and Donna Cape (Alex) of Great Bend, KS; two brothers, Victor Fisher and Cyril Fisher both of Hays; a sister, Delores Pfannenstiel of Hays; 30 grandchildren and 51 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son-in-law, Jimmy Arias; three brothers, Edwin, Alvin, and Ralph Fisher and three sisters, Agnes Waldschmidt, Georgina Jacobs and Rita Mae Giebler.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Friday, December 6, 2019 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Hays. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays.

Visitation will be Thursday, 2 PM - 8 PM with an Ellis Council 4th Degree rosary at 6:30 PM followed by a parish vigil service at 7 PM all at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the IHMC Building Fund or to donors choice.
