Francis James "Augie" Augustine, age 68 of Nickerson, formerly of Ellis, passed away Friday May 20th at the Mennonite Manor Retirement Village in South Hutchinson, KS. He was born on May 29, 1942 in Ellis, Kansas to Isidore and Dorothy (Leiker) Augustine. He attended Ellis High School and graduated from Derby High School in Arvada, Co. in 1961. He married Betty L. Miller on March 29, 1986 in Nickerson, Kansas. He was a professional truck driver. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis and he enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his wife Betty of the home; a son, Rodney Augustine and wife Rebecca of Victoria; three daughters, Loretta Akins and husband Orlin of Hillsboro, OR. Wanda Augustine of Hays and Brenda Urban and husband Steve of Hays; two brothers, Charles "Corky" Augustine of Ellis and Patrick Augustine of Denver; a sister, Judy Abbott of California; 5 grandchildren; 6 step children;11 step grandchildren and 12 step great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents.Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery.Visitation will be Thursday 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and Friday 9:00 A.M. - 9:30 A.M. time all at Keithley Funeral Chapel 400 E. 17th Ellis, KS. 67637. A parish vigil service will be at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to according to the wishes of the family to be designated at a later date.
