Obituary



Fidelis Engel Jr. 'Pinky', age 85 of Hays passed away Friday October 2, 2020 at Locust Grove Village in LaCrosse, Kansas. He was born September 16, 1935 in Munjor, Kansas to Fidelis Sr and Adeline (Befort) Engel.

Fidelis was a lifetime farmer in the Munjor, Kansas area who dedicated his life to the land. His favorite past-time was reading, especially the Farm Journal, which he read from cover to cover.

He is survived by three sons, Fidelis "Dale" Engel III (Jody) of Bloomington, ILL, Bruce K. Engel (Marilyn) of Hays, Darin J. Engel (Jackie) of Victoria; a daughter, Kim Engel of Seal Beach, CA, four sisters, Benita Rohr of Hays, Rosie Pfeifer of Ellis, Therese Haas of Hays and Sandy Wilson of Hays as well as eight grandchildren, Andrew, Katelyn, Erin, Wyatt, Tyler, Trenton, Quenton and Karli.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Dorothy Mermis, Ruby Remy and Lorene Kuhn.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 23, 2020 with a Munjor Council #11492 Knights of Columbus Rosary beginning at 10:30 AM, at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601, inurnment will follow the services in St Joseph's Catholic Cemetery - Hays.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hays High FFA program.
