Everett "Butch" L. Hupfer

Butch Hupfer, age 63, of Russell, KS, died May 13, 2023, at the Russell Regional Hospital - Russell.

He was a lifelong resident of Russell, Kansas, having been born there on July 14, 1959, to Everett L. Hupfer, Sr., and Nancy Kuntzsch. He attended Russell High School and was the owner/operator of Butch’s Tree Service.

Butch’s pride and joy were his 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren whom he adored. His favorite holiday was Christmas with his family, together with fishing, playing bingo, rabbit hunting, gambling, and he was an avid gardener.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years: Kay L. Scheck; two sons: Adam Hupfer and Clint (Jevon) Hejny; three daughters: Melanie (Jesse) Hoch, Jennifer Ayala, and Keri Hejny; a sister: Bonnie Stevenson, together with 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Debbie.

Graveside services will be Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 2 PM at the Cross Plains Cemetery - Russell County.
