Eugene Robben

Eugene W. Robben, age 91 of Gorham, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Wilson. He was born January 20, 1922 in Walker, Kansas to Henry M. and Elizabeth (Wagner) Robben. Eugene was raised by his Aunt Hortensia Baumrucker and family Mike and Gertrude Jacobs in Gorham. He married Margie L. Lipes on April 26, 1945 in Riverside, CA. She preceded him in death on October 17, 2011.

He was a Automotive Mechanic in Gorham working for Sams Garage and he also owned his own mechanic shop, Genes Motor Service in Gorham. He later worked for NAPA Auto Parts in Russell. He was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in Gorham and the Knights of Columbus also of Gorham.

He is survived by his sons, Eugene W. Robben Jr. and wife Janice of Topeka, Scott Robben of Kansas City, MO and Michael Robben and companion Patrick L. Onorato of Wichita, daughters Kathleen M. Sewell of Texas, and Gail E. Wade and husband Russell of Wade, TX; a sister, Bernadette Hand of McPherson, KS; 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.

His parents; four brothers, Wilfred, Robert, Elmer, Paul, and Gilbert; a sister, Mary Ann Robben and a half sister, Eleanor Robben preceded him in death.

Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Gorham. Inurnment will follow services at St. Marys Cemetery in Gorham. Arrangements in care of Brocks North Hill Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS. 67601.

The family will be present to greet friends Tuesday 10:00 AM until service time at the church.
