Ellen T. Brett

Ellen T. Brett, age 88, of Hays, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at St. John's of Victoria. She was born February 24, 1924 in Donegal, Ireland to Patrick and Mary (Campbell) Gillespie. She married Edward Brett on July 22, 1950 in Brooklyn, N.Y. He preceded her in death in 1996.



She trained as a nurse in England and was a LPN at Nyack Medical Center in New York where she retired.



She is survived by a son, Thomas Brett and wife Christine of New York; two daughters, Mary Brett of New Jersey and Anne Menendez and husband Joe of Hays; and two sisters, Kathleen Williams of Georgia and Alice Doherty of Ireland.



She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Edward Brett Jr. and four sisters.



Funeral services will be Saturday at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Vernon, N.J. Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Franklin, N.J. Visitation will be Friday 3:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at Ferguson Vernon Funeral Home in Ferguson, N.J. Local arrangements in care of Brock's North Hill Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS. 67601.
