Elizabeth Hatfield

Elizabeth Hatfield, age 79, of Hays passed away Monday, March 31, 2014 at Hays Medical Center. She was born January 18, 1935 in Victoria, Kansas to Anthony and Alvina (Stecklein) Dinkel. She was married to Kenneth "Cork" Hatfield who preceded her in death January 19, 1982.



Elizabeth was had worked at Travenol and then became a CNA working at St. John's of Hays and the Good Samaritan Society, Hays. She was a member if Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing cards and cooking.



She is survived by four sisters, Charlene Rupp of Hays, Barbara Schoenberger of Colorado, Rosie Mermis of Olathe, KS and Theresa Giebler of Hays; a granddaughter, Nicole Anderson and husband Ken of Olathe, KS and four great grandchildren, Tori and Alexis Daniels and Lauryn and Kenzie Anderson.



She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Melissa LaDuke; four brothers, Harold "Frank" Dinkel, Norman Dinkel, John Dinkel and infant Anthony Dinkel Jr. and a sister, Rita Herrman.



Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.



Visitation will be Tuesday 5 PM - 7 PM and Wednesday 9 AM - 10:15 AM all at Brock's Funeral Home 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.



A parish vigil service will be Tuesday at 7 PM at the funeral home.
