Elizabeth 'Betty' Weigel

Elizabeth Rose "Betty" Weigel, age 86, of Ellis, passed away Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Trego-Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney, Kansas. She was born December 8, 1928 in Atchison, Kansas to Edward and Rose (Gaydusek) Trompeter. She married Valentine Weigel February 17, 1990 in Ellis. He preceded her in death.

Betty was a homemaker and a nurses aide at the Good Samaritan Society in Ellis. She had also worked for ten years at the county home in Atchison, KS. She enjoyed bingo, watching baseball, crosswords and she was an avid bingo player. She was a member of St. Marys Church in Ellis.

She is survived by her brother, Bernard Trompeter and wife Linda of Topeka

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Thomas Trompeter and two sisters, Rita Dickerson and Phyllis Smith

Funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Ellis with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday 10 am until the rosary service at 10:30 all at the church.
