Edwin Weber

Obituary



Edwin Weber, age 91, of Hays, KS, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018 at the Hays Medical Center. He was born September 17, 1926 in Modoc, KS to Frank A. and Anna C. (Hertel) Weber. On June 19, 1954 he married Lillian Degenhardt in LaCrosse, KS. Together, they shared 64 years of marriage.

Edwin graduated from Bison High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was an equipment operator for Kansas Power and Light based out of Bison. He and Lillian made Bison, KS there home for 40 plus years. He was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church in Hays. Edwin enjoyed woodworking, playing bingo, cards, fishing and most importantly, spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian of Hays; two daughters; Sharon Younger and her husband Daniel and Nancy Urban and her husband Steve all of Hays; four grandchildren; Jennifer Gilliam and her husband J.D., James Younger, Rebecca Urban and Adam Urban as well as two step-great grandchildren, Corbin and Ava Gilliam.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Janice Weber and an infant sister.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, 2901 E. 13th Street, Hays. Burial will follow in St. Josephs Cemetery in Hays.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 3 from 4:00 P.M. 7:00 P.M. at Brocks-Keithley Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 2509 Vine St., Hays, KS 67601 and on Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until service time at the church.

A combined rosary and parish vigil service will be Monday at 6:30 PM at the funeral chapel.
