Edward "Whitey" Dinges

Edward "Whitey" Dinges, age 79, of Ellis, passed away June 22, 2011 at Trego Lemke memorial Hospital in WaKeeney. He was born August 17, 1931 in Schoenchen, Kansas to Albert and Mary (Gross) Dinges. He married Lillian Schmidt and was married 28 years. Whitey retired from Pepsi-Cola in Hays where he worked in the maintenance department. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis, Schoenchen Knights of Columbus, and the Sunflower Polka Club.He is survived by two brothers, Herman Dinges of Denver and Lee Dinges of Lewiston, ID; three sisters, Laureta Marquardt and Mary Ann Anderson both of Portland, OR. and Dorothy McCarty of Broomfield, CO.He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, his parents, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.Funeral services will be at 11:30 A.M. Thursday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Schoenchen. Cremation will follow services with Inurnment at a later date.Visitation will be Thursday 9 am - 11am with a rosary service at 11am all at the church.
