Obituary



Douglas Arthur Joy age 75 passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022, at the Ellsworth County Medical Center, Ellsworth, Kansas.

He was born March 23, 1947, in Hays, Kansas to Arthur C. and Ruth Edna (Angel) Joy.

He worked at Cross Manufacturing in Hays for a number of years, then went to work in the janitorial department at Fort Hays Sate University and retired in 2012. He was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Hays, Kansas and a veteran of the U S Army.

His survivors include his son, Justin Joy and wife, Melissa, Wichita, KS; his daughter, Marlynda Dixon, Olathe, KS; his grandchildren, Grayson and Riley Joy; Carlle and Matthew Dixon; his brother, Charles Joy, Hays, KS; his two sisters, Jan Bunker, Hays, KS; and Marianne Neil, London, England. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial Services will be at 4:00 P.M. Friday, December 16, 2022, at Clines-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601 with Rev. Shay Craig officiating. A family inurnment will be at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. Friday, at Clines-Keithley Mortuary of Hays.

The family suggest memorials made payable to: FHSU Foundation in care of the mortuary.
