Obituary



Dorothy Lucille Yowell, age 94, of Mesquite, Texas formerly of Ellis, Kansas passed away November 16, 2021 in Mesquite. She was born May 20, 1927 in Hays, Kansas to Nicholas and Anna Heroneme. On January 15, 1946 she married Clyde Yowell in Ellis. He preceded her in death on October 24, 1994.

Dorothy was a farm wife and also worked at Travenol in Hays for several years. She had been a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis and St. Jerome Catholic Church in Phoenix, Arizona. She spent many years volunteering at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Phoenix. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Victoria Larson and Claudia Schroer; a son, Paul Yowell; grandchildren, Rich Wellbrock, Monica Hafif, Brook Schroer, Nathan Yowell, Sarah Williams and Kelsey Yowell; great grandchildren, Griffin Wellbrock, Madeline Wellbrock, Jack Hafif, Freida Hafif, Lillian Schroer, Brenden Schroer, Jackson Williams and Addison Williams, as well as numerous extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Memorial services will be 10:00 AM with visitation 9:00 AM until service time on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul @ svdpusa.org in her memory.
