Donald Schauvliege

Donald Charles "Chuck" Schauvliege Sr., age 61 of Hays, passed away November 25, 2013 at Hays Medical Center. He was born July 18, 1952 in Jetmore, KS to Donald and Mildred "Mickey" L. (Bowie) Schauvliege. He graduated in 1970 from Hays High School.

He spent most of working career as a heavy equipment operator and foreman in the Hays, KS and Virginia Beach, VA areas. In his younger days he enjoyed motorcycles and spending time outdoors.

He is survived by his stepfather, Michael M. Rupp of Hays; son, Donald C. "Chuck" Schauvliege Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA; a daughter, Sharla Borden and husband Vincent of Virginia Beach, VA; two brothers, Tim Rupp of Hays and Mike Schauvliege and his significant other, Linda Hrabe of walker, KS; two sisters, Jennifer Hallin and husband Gus of Durango, CO and Vicki Runge and husband Tom of Hays; aunt, Mary Joann Sorem of Jetmore, KS as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Louis and Irene Schauvliege, Mabel and Don Bowie and Andrew and Adeline Rupp.

Cremation has taken place at Brocks Funeral Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601. Private family services and inurnment will be at a later date.
