Donald Augustine

Donald Lee "Duke" Augustine, age 72 of Ellis, passed away Tuesday, May 10th at the Hays Medical Center in Hays. He was born on September 5, 1938 to Joseph and Sophie (Weber) Augustine. Donald worked as a janitor for St. Mary's School and Fort Hays State University. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a 4th Degree Ellis Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing Bingo and lottery tickets. He is survived by two sons, Patrick Augustine of Russell and children Jeffrey, Jillian and Javian Augustine, Terry Augustine (Tiffany) of Wichita and child, Dallas Augustine; a daughter, Paula Moore-Daniels (Travis) of Great Bend and children, Jordan and Jalen Daniels; four brothers, Leonard of Ellis, Elmer of Hays, Harold and Larry of Hutchinson; three sisters, Martha Beer of WaKeeney, Dorothy Younger of McPherson and Janie Daniels of Larimie, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Augustine and 3 grandchildren, Jaxon, Jaden and Jacen. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 14th St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. Burial will follow services in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and Saturday 9:00 A.M. - 9:30 A.M. all at St. Mary's Catholic Church. A combined 3rd and 4th Degree Ellis Council Knights of Columbus Rosary Service will be at 6:30 P.M. Friday followed by a parish vigil service at 7:00 P.M.
