Dolores M. Gottschalk

Dolores M. Gottschalk 82, Hays passed away November 12, 2017 at the Hays Good Samaritan Society with her family by her side.

She was born June 15, 1935 in Victoria, KS, the daughter of Richard and Amelia (Hammerschmidt) Stang. She was a graduate of Girls Catholic High School in Hays. On April 11, 1955 she married Leon Gottschalk in Hays. She was a homemaker, secretary and volunteer. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed sewing, baking, reading and attending K-State football games.

Survivors include her husband, Leon of Hays, two sons; Lloyd Gottschalk and wife Lisa of Centennial, CO and Richard "Rich" Gottschalk and wife Trina of Hays, three daughters; Carol Hall and husband Robert of Leavenworth, KS; Donna Gottschalk of Louisville, CO and Amy Toplikar of Hilliard, OH; Eleven grandchildren; Natalie and Clayton Hall, Amelia and Lucy Geiszler, Allison, Matthew and Maria Toplikar, Cristian, Adam, Jadyn and Shalee Gottschalk.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Stang and sisters, Mary Jane and Gladys Mae Stang.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 215 W. 13th Street with Fr. Fred Gatschet officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday and from 9:00 am until 9:45 on Friday at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 2509 Vine St., Hays, KS. A parish vigil service at the funeral home will be at 6:00 PM on Thursday, followed by a Daughters of Isabella Rosary. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church rectory fund or HaysMed Hospice in care of the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial is suggested to the Mary Elizabeth Maternity Home.
