Diane Wellbrock

 Diane Marie Wellbrock, 74, of Victoria, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Via Christi Village Care Center in Hays, Kansas. 

She was born June 27, 1950, in Hays, Kansas to Irenus “Shorty” and Alma (Jacobs) Leiker. She married Wayne Wellbrock on May 8, 1971, in Munjor, Kansas.

Diane worked at the Victoria Total Convenience Store for about 17 years, and also The Library Bar and Grill. In her early years, she worked at ArensWear and Amphenol-Adronics Inc., both of Hays. She grew up in Munjor, attended Munjor Grade School and was a 1968 graduate of Hays High School. 

She was a member of Saint Boniface Catholic Church and Saint Boniface Christian Mothers, both of Vincent, Kansas. Diane enjoyed attending all the grandkids’ school and sporting activities, bingo, card games and luncheons with her girlfriends. Diane had multiple small jobs, but her main job was as a mom and grandma. 

She is survived by her husband, Wayne Wellbrock, of the home; her sons, John Wellbrock and wife, Melissa, Victoria, KS; Chris Wellbrock and wife, Laura, Hays, KS; Curtis Wellbrock and wife, Jeanna, Victoria, KS; Scott Wellbrock and wife, Meagan, Victoria, KS; her brothers, Allen Leiker and wife, Judy, Hays, KS; David Leiker and wife, Jean, Munjor, KS; her sister, Kathy Dick and husband, Mike, Russell, KS; her brother-in-law, Steve Hoffman, Gorham, KS; her sisters-in-law, Shirley Augustine, Ellinwood, KS; Joyce Wellbrock, Victoria, KS; Lucy Boucher, Hays, KS; Sunell Koerner, Liberty, MO; her 13 grandchildren, Michael Wellbrock and wife, Sara; Jacob Wellbrock and significant other, Katie Westhusin; Jordan Wellbrock; Christian Wellbrock; Savanna Wellbrock; MaKenna Wellbrock; Levi Wellbrock; Lillian Wellbrock; Lucas Wellbrock; Josselyn Wellbrock; Ann Wellbrock; Elizabeth Wellbrock; and Thomas Wellbrock.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Irenus “Shorty” and Alma Leiker, her brother, Donald “Pappy” Leiker and wife, Rosie; her grandson, Matthew Wellbrock; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Francis and Elizabeth (Wellbrock) Wellbrock.

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 4, 2024, at the Basilica of Saint Fidelis, 900 Cathedral Ave., Victoria, Kansas with Celebrant, Father James Moster O.F.M. Cap. A burial will be in Saint Boniface Cemetery, Vincent, Kansas.

 A vigil service and Saint Boniface Christian Mothers rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. Sunday, at Cline-Keithley Mortuary, Victoria, Kansas. 

 A visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary Victoria, Kansas and from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Monday, at the Basilica of Saint Fidelis.
