Obituary



Derrick Scott Kelley, age 36, of Natoma, Kansas passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2021 in rural Ellis County the result of injuries suffered in the wildfires that erupted in Ellis County on Wednesday.

Derrick was a jokester with a contagious smile and laughter. He loved hard. He was a very hard worker. He worked for A-1 Scaffolding, was a floorhand for various oilfield companies, but mostly enjoyed playing football with the kids.

He is survived by his father, Arley Kelley, Natoma, KS; his fianc Tabitha, "Tabbiy", Bazine, KS and their four children, Makenzie, Ayden, Xander and Chevy; two brothers, Bill Shreve, Salina; and Cliff Kelley, Ness City, KS.

He was preceded in death by his mother Bonnie Lee Shreve (Young).

A Celebration of Life service will be 11:30 AM Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601. A memorial visitation will be at 10:30 AM until service time.
