Obituary
Dennis Matthew Rome, age 58, of St. Peter, Kansas passed away Monday, November 16, 2020 at Hays Medical Center. He was born October 11, 1962 in WaKeeney, Kansas to Sylvanus 'Syl' and Firma Jean 'Jeannie' (Rupp) Rome.
Dennis was a mechanic with Shaw Motors in Grainfield, KS. He enjoyed participating in Karaoke, tinkering with cars and listening to Elvis. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in WaKeeney and a 3rd degree Ellis Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his father, Syl of St. Peter, Kansas; a brother, James Rome and wife Sandy of Ellis; a sister, Lucinda Smith of Alma, Nebraska; a special friend, Acey Richmond of Hays; nieces and nephews, Jenna Smith, Justin Smith, Nathaniel Hulse, Hannah Hulse, Lexie Rome and Alyssa Rome as well as 5 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeannie Rome and a sister, Malinda Deel.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Christ the King Catholic Church in WaKeeney. Burial will follow services in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ellis.
Visitation will be Friday 6 PM - 8 PM and Saturday 9 AM until service time all at the church.
A combined parish vigil and rosary service will be Friday at 7 PM at the church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Christ the King Church, St. Mary's Church or Masses.
