David Lynn Schurz

David Lynn Schurz, age 56, of Gorham, passed away on Friday, April 1st at his home. He was born on August 5, 1954 in Logan to Walter Henry and Georgine Mary (Bittel) Schurz. He graduated in 1972 from Logan High School.David had worked in the oilfields and in construction currently working for Weigel's Construction. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Gorham. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle.He is survived by a son, Weston and girlfriend Erin Stevenson of Russell; a daughter, Tessie Foltz and husband Jake of Garden City; five brothers, Fred (Linda) Schurz of Salina, Rick (Rhonda) Schurz of Logan, Bob (Sheila) Schurz of Bonner Springs, Hank (Linda) Schurz of Phillipsburg and Shannon (Joan) Schurz of Speed; three sisters, Cheryl (Rick) Finnesy of Liberty, MO., Dena (Kenneth) Vehige of Hays and Connie (D.D.) Breese of Quinter. He is also survived by his special friend, Barb Schmitt of Gorham.He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marie and Myra.Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Gorham. Burial will be at 4:00 P.M. in the Logan Cemetery in Logan, Kansas.Visitation will be Monday 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with parish wake service at 6:30 P.M. all at Brock's North Hill Chapel ~ 2509 Vine ~ Hays, KS. 67601.Contributions are suggested to the organization of Donor's choice.
