Billy "Bill" Wilson

Billy "Bill" Raymond Wilson, age 75 of Hays, Passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at his home. He was born February 13, 1938 in Larned, Kansas to Frank Raymond and Doris Arlene (Cole) Wilson. He graduated from Pawnee Rock High School in 1956. Attended Hutchinson Community College on a track scholarship and graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelors in Physical Education.

Bill was a long time Real Estate Appraiser owning and operating Wilson Appraisal Service in Hays since 1985. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was active in the Hays community serving on various boards and committees including the Well Head and Zoning Committees. He was active in many things that would be impossible to name them all but a few of his most active interests were being an avid K-State fan and involved with the Heartland Catbackers. He had a passion for fishing particularly at Wilson Lake where he was involved with the Wilson Lake Association. He enjoyed playing Gin and Texas Holdem on a regular basis. Most importantly Bill was a devoted Father and Grandfather.

Survivors include his daughters, Marnie Wilson and husband Casey Lee of Hays and Mindy Wilson of Hays; two grandchildren, Mia and Alex Lee of Hays; two brothers, Keith Wilson of Wichita and Randy Wilson of Larned. Bill is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara Ater.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 25th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hays. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday 4 PM 8 PM and Monday 10 AM 10:30 AM all at Brocks Funeral Home and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS. 67601.

A parish vigil service will be Sunday at 6:30 PM at the funeral home.
