Bernita Younger

Bernita Anna Younger, age 82, of Ellis, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society, Ellis. She was born March 5, 1931 in Munjor, Ks to Chrysostom and Catherine (Meier) Korbe. She married Marvin Severin Younger on October 24, 1951 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Munjor.



Bernita had worked at Travenol and she was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and she enjoyed quilting, embroidery and ceramics.



She is survived by her husband, Marvin of the home; two sons, Warren Younger and Daniel Younger and wife Sharon; three daughters, Rebecca and husband Dennis Zimmerman, Claudia and husband David Leiker all of Hays, and Olinda and husband Gary Power of Salina; two brothers, Willard Korbe of Portland, OR and Chrysostom Korbe Jr of Battleground WA; a sister, LaVerna Molleker of Hays. 12 grandchildren, Angie, Matt, and Mike Zimmerman, Jennifer and James Younger, Melissa (Smith) and Abby Power, Nathan, Alex and Jordan Leiker, and Christopher and Joel Younger. Also 17 great grandchildren.



She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Marvin and a sister, Twila Campbell



Funeral services will be 12:00 PM Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.



Visitation will be Friday 6:00 PM - 8 :00 PM and Saturday 11:00 AM - 11:30 AM at Brock's Funeral Chapel ~ 2509 Vine ~ Hays, KS 67601.
