Obituary



Benita Befort, age 89, of Hays, KS passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Locust Grove Village - LaCrosse. She was born July 17, 1931 in Munjor, Kansas. She went to Schoenchen High School, she married Donald J. Befort on October 21, 1953. She was a homemaker. What she loved the most was being with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved watching the Atlanta Braves, she also enjoyed traveling and tending to her roses. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

Survivors include her two daughters: Kayleen Bittel and husband Bob, and Karen Thomason all of Hays, as well as six grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald J. Befort, mother Felicita (Pfannenstiel) Gabel, father Hilarius Gabel, and sister Erma Lee Walters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church - Hays, with interment following services in St Francis Cemetery - Munjor.

Services in care of Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine Street, Hays, KS 67601.
