Graveside services are scheduled for 1 PM on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at St. Mary's Cemetery in Ellis, Kansas.

Barbara Rupp, age 78, of Hays, Kansas passed away Thursday, April 2, 2020 in Hays from an extended illness. Barb died peacefully at her home with her two daughters. Barb was born November 29, 1941 in Oklahoma City to William and Evelyn (Qualls) Douglas. Barb graduated from Ellis high school in 1960. Barb married Alois W. Rupp on October 22, 1960 in Ellis. Alois preceded her in death on March 12, 2016.

Barb had worked at Travenol and at Walmart. Barb enjoyed spending time with family and friends as well as studying genealogy. Barb was a member of St. Mary Church, Ellis.

Survivors include two daughters, Lisa (Tony) Workman, Loveland, Colorado and Lora (Todd) Armbruster of Hays; a sister, Peggy Schoenberger, Russell, Kansas; five grandchildren, Zachariah (Maria) Armbruster, Grand Island, Nebraska, Marguerite (Yan) Stastny of Berthoud, Colorado , Shelby Workman of Loveland, Cassandra Armbruster and Candra Armbruster both of Hays; and great grandchildren, Camdyn Armbruster, Prisayus Kennedy, Draxton VanEpps, and Everleigh Whittington all of Hays, Reagan Stastny, Mila Stastny, Brooks Stastny and Quinn Stastny all of Berthoud, Dylan Armbruster of Grand Island.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; her biological father, Emmitt Osborn; and a brother, Eddie Douglas.

A Celebration of Life service will be held and announced at a later date when the gathering restrictions due to the Covid 19 virus have been lifted.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Community Assistance Center in Hays. If donating, please make the check payable to the organization. Contributions may be mailed to Brocks-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.
