Barbara Reichert

Barbara Reichert, Age 98, a resident of Via Christi Village, Hays passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014. She was born May 16, 1915 in a dugout on a farmstead southwest of Antonino to Isidore and Agatha (Wasinger) Riechert. She graduated from Schoenchen High School in 1932.



In 1938 she entered the Sisters of St. Joseph in Concordia. She was secularized in 1976. Barbara was employed at St. John's Hospital of Salina in the medical records department for thirty years and retired in 1980. She was a resident of Salina, KS until she moved to Hays in 2005. Her hobbies included cooking (her peanut brittle was the best) , sewing, flower gardening and playing bingo.



She is survived by 34 nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Werth, Joe Steinbock and Frank Reichert and sicx sisters, Josephine Dreher, Cecilia Werth, Sister Esther Marie Werth, Emma Munsch, Mary Copeland and Dorothy Kozlowski.



Services will be 10:15 AM Friday at St. John Chapel at Via Christi Village. Burial will follow at Our Lady help of Christians Cemetery in Antonino. Arrangements in care of Brock's Funeral Chapel 2509 Vine Hays, KS 67601.



Visitation will be Thursday 5 PM - 7 PM at St. John Chapel at Via Christi Village.



A rosary service will be Thursday at 6 PM followed by a parish vigil service at 7 PM all at St. John Chapel at Via Christi Village.
