Barbara Kinderknecht

Barbara Kinderknecht, age 74, of Ellis, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney. She was born August 21, 1938 in Ellis, Kansas to Andrew and Thresia (Augustine) Scheck. She married Ralph M. Kinderknecht on November 7, 1955 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Ellis.

She was a homemaker and a Tupperware consultant. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, Eagles, and AARP. She enjoyed playing Bingo and attending dances with her husband Ralph.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph Kinderknecht of Ellis; two sons, Melvin Kinderknecht and wife Tracy and Gilbert Kinderknecht and wife Cheryl all of Ellis; two daughters, Debra Kinderknecht of Ellis and Brenda Kinderknecht of Hill City; a brother, Donald Scheck of New Castle, WY; three sisters, Shirley Gerhardt, Norma Brack and Edna Hejny all of Ellis and 7 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Leland Kinderknecht; a daughter, Mary Frances Kinderknecht and two brothers, LeeRoy and Gerald Lee Scheck.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at St Marys Catholic Church in Ellis. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Ellis.

Visitation will be Tuesday 6:00 P.M. 8:00 P.M. at St. Marys Church and Wednesday 9:00 A.M. 9:30 A.M. at Keithley Funeral Chapel, 400 E. 17th Ellis, KS. 67637.

A Daughters of Isabella rosary service will be Tuesday at 6:30 P.M. followed by a parish vigil service at 7:00 P.M. both at the church.
