Annys M. Pfannenstiel of Hays, Kansas, age 74, passed away June 29, 2024, at Wesley Medical Center. She was born February 15, 1950, to Oscar and Betty (Sparks) Hagen in Ellis, Kansas and attended school there, including attending Star School in the county.
She held many jobs in Ellis County, including Taco Shop, Judge McGreevy’s, and Adronics Elrob. She found her greatest joy at her last employment by working in the Garden Center and Floral Department at Dillons. Annys was an advid gardner and die-hard animal lover. After her mother passed away, she and her sister, took over putting out auxiliary flags for the Ellis VFW Auxiliary on Memorial Day weekend. However, the most passion came from spending time and teaching life lessons with her grandkids. Always impressing upon them a hard work ethic and common courtesy that was her “farm raised girl” foundation in life.
She married Danny Pfannenstiel October 15, 1994, he preceded her in death in May of 2016.
Annys is survived by her son, Jody Hagen and wife Debbie, Hays, KS; brothers Rex Hagen, Ellis, KS; Ralph Sparks, Hays, KS; sister Ellen Berry, Hays, KS; grandkids Krystian Hagen & Mykaela Hagen; step grandkids Tristan Jay and Maigen Jay; nephews Justin Berry and Russell Berry, Colby, KS; nieces Laurel Sparks Beebe, Washington State; Annzlee Berry, Colby, KS;
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, nephew Benjamin Sparks, and sister Gloria Hagen.
Services will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, Ellis, Kansas, Monday, July 8, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Inurnment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Munjor, Kansas at 2:30 PM.
