Anna Marie (Keller) Brueggeman, age 97, of Hays, passed away Friday, December 23, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Society of Hays. She was born March 25, 1914 in Ellis County to Jake and Minnie (Huber) Keller. She married Eddie Brueggeman on September 27, 1934 at St. John Lutheran Church in Ellis.
Anna was a farm wife and homemaker working with her husband on the farm south of Palco where they lived for 59 years before moving to Hays. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Ellis, WELCA, attended Messiah Lutheran of Hays and she enjoyed crocheting and cross word puzzles.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley Thomason and husband Earl of Hays; two grandsons, Steve Thomason and Michael Thomason and his wife Kim all of Hays; six great grandchildren, Jared Thomason and wife Sarah, Amy Augustine and husband Barron all of Kansas City, John Thomason and wife Jennie of Oklahoma City, Sara Breeze and husband Ryan of Hawaii, Lynsay Watts and husband Mark of Richwood, TX. and Kelli Thomason of Hays; two great-great grandchildren, Gavin and Ashlyn Thomason; two step great grandchildren, Kassie and Ryan Day and a step great-great grandson, Miles day. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Helen Keller Davis and Irene Keller Zerfas.
She was preceded in death by her husband Eddie in 1993; a son, Larry in 1959; three brothers, Oscar, Albert and Edward Keller; and a sister-in-law, Rosie Keller.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church in Ellis located 7 miles north of Ellis on the blacktop. Burial will follow services in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Palco.
Visitation will be Monday 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Keithley Funeral Chapel 400 E. 17th Ellis, KS. 67637 and Tuesday 12:30 P.M. - 1:30 P.M. at the church. Lunch will be provided prior to services Tuesday at the church starting at Noon.
A prayer service will be Monday at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Good Samaritan Society of Hays, St. John Lutheran Church of Ellis or Messiah Lutheran Church of Hays.
