Andrew Leonard Duran, age 57, of Ellis, Kansas peacefully passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas surrounded by his loved ones, after a courageous battle with metastatic lung cancer.
The beloved son of Alfred Duran and Lorraine Quintana (Martinez) was born on December 15, 1967, in Leadville, Colorado.
Andrew was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes. He was employed at Qdoba Mexican Grill in Hays. Andrew was a supportive father, a caring brother, and a devoted partner. His absence will be deeply felt by all who had the honor of calling him family or friend.
In his spare time, Andrew found solace in fishing, a passion that brought him great joy and relaxation. He was a true Broncos fan and his dedication to this hobby reflected his patience and contemplative nature. Andrew's kind heart and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him and was known to many as a devoted family man.
Andrew is survived by his loving son, Manuel Binder and wife, Billie; along with their children, Robert Staab; Octavia Binder; Amaree Binder; Rosalonnie Binder; his daughter, Savana Duran; his mother, Lorraine Quintana; his niece, Lisa Portillo; and her three children, Anthony Martinez; Issac Martinez; Desiree Martinez; his nephew, Enrique Portillo; and additionally, he leaves his niece, Sophia Portillo; and her four children, Gabriel Burciaga; Mathew Burciaga; Devanee Oliva; and Julissa Oliva.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Duran; his brother, Manuel Duran; his sister, Geraldine Duran. While we mourn his passing, we take solace in the cherished memories he leaves behind and the love that will forever reside in our hearts.
May Andrew's legacy of love and kindness live on through those who were blessed to have known him. Rest in peace, dear Andrew. You will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Cline’s-Keithley Mortuary of Hays with Father James Moster O.F.M. Cap. officiating. A private family inurnment will be held in Colorado at a later date.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Saturday, at the mortuary.
