Alvin Augustine

Alvin John Augustine, age 76 of Mountain Home, Arkansas formerly of Ellis passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at Baxter Regional Medical Center. He was born March 14, 1938 on the family farm Northwest of Ellis, Kansas to Rudolph and Regina (Reitmeyer) Augustine. He married MaryAnn Barfoot on April 24, 2000 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.



He was a long time employee of Travenol and transferred to Mountain Home, Arkansas in 1986 to continue working with them retiring in 2000. He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Twin Lakes Gun Club, Ellis Knights of Columbus and the Army National Guard. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting pool.

He is survived by his wife MaryAnn Augustine, two sisters; Irene Normandin (Louie) of Hays, Kansas, Betty Weber (Bob) of Ellis, Kansas, six brothers; Gilbert Augustine (Janet) of Ellis, Kansas, Vergil Augustine (Ann) of Ellis, Kansas, Arnold Augustine (Marilyn) of Hays, Kansas, Richard Augustine (Dorothy) of Hays, Kansas, Rudolph Augustine of Hill City, Kansas, Darrell Augustine of Olathe, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Shirley Leikam and infant Dorothy Augustine.



Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.



Visitation will be Monday 4 PM - 8 PM and Tuesday 9 AM - 9:30 AM all at Keithley Funeral Chapel 400 E 17th Ellis, KS. 67637.



A parish vigil service and Ellis Knights of Columbus rosary service will be at 7 PM Monday at the funeral home.
