Obituary
Stephen "Steve" Kisner Jr. age 94, a former Pfeifer, Kansas resident died Friday, May 6, 2022, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas. He was born August 19, 1927, on the farm at Pfeifer, Kansas to Stephen Kisner Sr. and Anna Marie (Dome). He married Jane (Kronewitter) on August 1, 1949, at Pfeifer.
He was a farmer, and a cattleman all of his life. He grew up on the farm at Pfeifer, he attended the Pfeifer Grade School, and was a graduate of Schoenchen High School. He served on the Bison CO-OP Board, and the Holy Cross Catholic Church Parish Council. He was a board member and clerk of the Freedom Township Board. He attended Immaculate Heart Catholic Church in Hays, and was a former member of The Holy Cross Catholic Church of Pfeifer. Steve enjoyed working on the farm with his family, playing cards, listening to country music, dancing, and an avid Kansas City Royals fan.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Kisner, Hays, KS; his children, Gloria Dinkel, Hays, KS; Wanda Pfannenstiel and husband, Steve, Hays, KS; Linda Goetz and husband, Bruce, Hays, KS, Thomas Kisner and wife, Cindy, Hays, KS, Brenda Erbert, Hays, KS; Myrna Hoffman and husband, Jeff, Hays, KS; David Kisner and wife, Ronda, Derby, KS; Jeff Kisner and wife, Janine, Victoria, KS; his sisters, Lucille Huser-Knoll, Hays, KS, Florine Kisner, Pfeifer, KS; Marlene Lang-Sarver and husband, Larry, Natoma, KS; 21 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Allan Dinkel; his granddaughters, Jami Goetz and Lori Dinkel; his brothers, Marion Kisner; Floyd, Kisner; Lloyd Kisner and Marvin Kisner; his brothers-in-law, Earl Huser; George Knoll; Valerian Lang.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 9, 2022, at The Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria, Kansas with Father James Moster O.F.M. Cap. officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pfeifer, Kansas.
Vigil service and rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. Sunday, Clines-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, at Clines-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, and 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. Monday, at The Basilica of St. Fidelis, Victoria, Kansas.
The family suggests memorials payable to the organizations: Holy Cross Charities, INC. or Hospice of Hays Medical Center in care of the mortuary.
