Obituary



Paul Peter Grabbe age 75 of Hays, Kansas passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.

He was born October 5, 1947, in Hays, Kansas to John C. and Josephine (Quint) Grabbe.

Paul retired from Enersys Battery Plant, grew up in Hays, and was a 1966 graduate of St. Joseph Military Academy class of 1966. He loved his girls and wanted to spend as much time with them as he could. Together they enjoyed many sporting events which included all TMP and Fort Hays sports. He never missed watching a San Francisco 49ers football or an Atlanta Braves baseball game. He loved to listen to local German music especially Jimmy Dee and The Fabulous Destination, music at his church, the Celebration Community Church. He lived at Centennial Towers for the last 6 years and enjoyed that community of friends very much. He loved playing cards, watching football, and having social events at Centennial Towers.

Paul is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Smith and husband, Andrew, (grandchildren Gracie and Anthony) of Hays, KS; Kayleen Walters and husband, Mike (grandchildren McKaylla and Thomas) of Hays, KS; Shannon Sanders of Hays, KS; his sister, Rosemarie Grabbe Fischer, of Washington, MO.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Marvin Richard Grabbe; and his sister, Patricia Marie Allen.

Memorial Services will begin at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 30, 2022. At Clines-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd, Hays, Kansas 67601 with Pastor Brant Rice officiating. Inurnment will be in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Hays, Kansas.

Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. Friday at Clines-Keithley Mortuary of Hays.

In Lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to: theA R C of Central Plains in care of the mortuary.
