Leta Fern Gross

Leta Fern Gross, age 92 of Hays, Passed away Saturday, January 2, 2010 at St. John's Health care Center of Hays. She was born on July 9, 1917 in Norton, Kansas to Fred and Nina (Campbell) McCabe. She married Virgil A. Gross on June 4, 1946 in Hays. He preceded her in death on June 3, 2004.Fern was a Certified Nurses Aid at St. Anthony Hospital and then Hays Medical Center retiring in 1980. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and Altar Society & Christian Mothers.She is survived by a son, David Gross of El Paso, TX., a daughter, Marie Gross of Hays, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.Funeral services will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 5th. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. and on Tuesday 9:00 A.M. - 9:30 A.M. all at Brock's North Hill Chapel, 2509 Vine, Hays. There will be a combined Daughters of Isabella and Altar Society & Christian Mothers rosary service at 6:00 P.M. on Monday followed by a parish vigil service at 6:30 P.M. all at the funeral home.
