Obituary



John Craig Young age 58, former Hays, Kansas resident, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023, at the Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, Kansas.

He was born March 14, 1964, in Hays, Kansas to Edgar Batson and Betty Lee (Wallerstedt) Young.

John was a bartender at the HOME Party Club in Hays for a number of years. He grew up in Hays, was a graduate of Hays High School, attended the First United Methodist Church in Hays, and moved to Salina in 2009. John enjoyed his friends, and was a good kind-hearted caring person.

Survivors include his brothers, William L. Young and wife, Francine, Saida, TX; Robert K. Young, Salina, KS; Walter Benjamin Young, Colby, KS; his sisters, Karen Keevert and husband, Gary, Enterprise, AL; Kristin Tardif and husband, Michael, Fort Smith, AR; his sister-in-law, Karen Young, Herford, AZ; a number of nieces, and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, James E. Young; and his sister-in-law, Anda Young.

Graveside services and inurnment are at 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Fort Hays Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hays, Kansas with Rev. Troy Miller officiating.

Services are entrusted to Clines-Keithley Mortuary of Hays, 1919 East 22nd Street, Hays, Kansas 67601.
