Anna Geist

Anna Marie (Weber) Geist, age 87, of Ellis, passed away Monday, July 30, 2012 at the Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital in WaKeeney. She was born May 3, 1925 on the family farm in Glenco Township, Trego County, KS. to John and Theresia (Augustine) Weber Sr. She married her grade school sweetheart, William (Bill) Geist Sr. on Nov. 22, 1943 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Ellis, KS.

Anna loved crafts, sewing, gardening and playing cards. She was a Daycare Provider, a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and VFW Auxiliary in Ellis.

This union was blessed with daughters Marjorie Geist and Sharon Geist (Alvarado, TX), sons Gary Geist and wife Dixie (Gilbert, AZ) and Larry and Lori Geist (Hanover, KS), daughter-in-law Dotty and husband Pete West (Aiken, SC). one brother, John Weber Jr. of Ellis, three sisters Katie Eberle of WaKeeney, Theresa Aschenbrenner of Colby and Helen Pfeifer of Ellis. Grandchildren Todd and Brandon Geist, Luke Geist and Lyndsey and husband Joe Lamas, step grandson Justin and wife Kristen Lingana. Great-grandsons Kaedin and Kael Lamas and step-great-granddaughter Mikayla Lingana.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Bill (Dec.30 2009), sons William (June 2, 1945), Kenneth (Sept. 10, 1951) and Bill Jr (Sept. 12, 1990), her parents, twin sister Johanna, baby sister Josephine, brothers, Ig, Mike, Ambrose and Joe.
